Re: Sonisphere UK 2014

The thing that most seem to overlook about Maiden's 2010 set is that for at least six months prior to the event it was being promoted EVERYWHERE that it would only be the "newer" material and the one new song they played they released for free. If people didn't know the songs they can't gi...

Re: Sonisphere UK 2014

Nonetheless, I think it's something that needs to be cleared up soon. Damn, I even thought for a bit that's what they meant.

If people who aren't regulars to this kind of thing saw that and didn't do a double take, they may end up buying tickets thinking one thing, and getting another.

Re: Sonisphere UK 2014

I hope they clarify the co-headline thing soon enough. The press releases definitely make it sound like it's the same day, and co-headline is usually a term reserved for a gig that's happening on the same day. If they're the same day (I know, unlikely, but still) then that is gonna guarantee me a ti...

So, by co-headline they do mean co-headline in the true sense that they are both playing the same day?

I'm going to Portsmouth. Really looking forward to it.

It's gonna take a lot to top last year for me. 10000000000000 x better than expected, met Brian Fallon (love) and unearthed the gem of Dave Hause!

Re: Download Festival 2013

In response to the 30STM stuff, I would absolutely pay to see them headline. I was an admirer of their music and had a couple of albums. Watched them headline second stage of DL2010 and they were awesome. Quite simply put, they had the lowest production/stage set up of a "big" band all wee...

Re: Download Festival 2012

For me, the only way Sabbath would have been better is if they played Planet Caravan and my favourite song, Electric Funeral.

I can see why they would possibly have bored you though mate. And spot on about the mic control/voice from Cornell. frakking amazing!

Re: Download Festival 2012

I was lucky enough to get right to the front of the queue on Friday and I could see the haybales getting put down. I was pleased they did it though, even if it sucked that I missed Rise to Remain and, yet again, Cancer Bats. There were three great days of music. The first time at Download I saw so m...

Re: 2013 headliners

Maiden and Rammstein coming back, plus a generic headliner out of the Blink/Paramore pile, would sell out. would it? it didnt sell out the weekend the first time sonisphere did it so why would them repeating 2 of the 3 headliners just 3 years and 2 festivals down the line. i was thinking about ramm...

Re: Black Sabbath Birmingham Show [Long shot]

Whilst I wouldn't say it was a scam I know what you mean. I got front row seats for WWE RAW at the o2 arena. Got all the way through to the payment and "an error had occured. Try again later". Online systems need to be more robust so that if you're operating within the time limits you are ...

Re: 2013 headliners

Most people seem to say that if they were going to headline they would have done it. Going off the back of The Blackening, and Locust, if they have another 2 good albums then I think they could be a headliner, albeit at the lower end of the scale.

There's a really good burrito van at Soni/DL. It's orange with black writing is all I can remember. It's like £7 for a buffallo burrito, but amazing.

Re: 2013 headliners

You're right there with Metallica. I remember people saying in 2009, "If you're into Metal music then you will have seen Metallica by now" which isn't the truth at all. I must have been one of the few people that wanted to see KISS actually. I've heard great things about their stage show. ...

The whole of The Gaslight Anthem in 2010 at Southampton Guildhall. I was really suffering quite badly with the flu all day, still went. Got 2nd row from stage, sung almost every word of every song. Next morning, I felt like a freight train had ran over my head. Also, November 2011, arriving later th...

Re: 2013 headliners

The problem is though, when a band announce months before the festival that they will only be playing stuff between a certain period of time, if you're disappointed they didn't play your favourite classic songs on the night then you only have yourselves to blame. We have too many complainers saying ...
