Re: ?? scottish soni

Who'd want to go to Scotland for a mini-day festival, let alone go there for any reason? :) You could stay in my bed! I would go. Financially I doubt it would work though unless Soni at Knebworth didn`t go ahead. Re. Scottish Download, you have to remember it was a Wed/Thurs (IIRC) and there was no...

Re: Virtual Walkthrough

Nice idea but then it kinda takes the fun away from the first day i.e. spending time wandering about, getting your bearings meeting people etc

Re: Viral Video Advert

Guys when you are recording be sure to record about 5 secs either side of your lines I've asked people to record the whole verse, so that it flows better, but a slight pause would be good too. Was thinking we could end it with someone switching off their webcam? ie leaning forward, clicking, then s...

 no pressure then. Thanks for the advice though David. I've got some random programme at uni which is neither it seems :? Do you think it would be better to do it on WMM then? So it can be sent around and added to if people want? Dunno about recording it buddie - i would just use video camer...

Re: Viral Video Advert

Thanks again for all the advice Dave. I was talking more about the recording of the lines though, cos I'm sure we don't all wanna spend £30 just to record ourselves singing one line  I'm sure as this is Jen's degree she'll have something good? Ahh no worries, thought you were talking about pos...

I'd give this a try http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pinnacle-Studio-14-HD-DVD/dp/B002PAQLVA/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1271332318&sr=8-17 Had an earlier version a while a go and it had some pretty good professional tools that were unheard of on the home market at the time. I used to use ...

There are loads of good editing packs on the market but the same rules (as with anything applies) the cheaper you go the more gooseberry it's gonna be

Amazons got quite a few between 30 and 50 quid, best thing to do is look up the manufacturer and see if the offer demo software

Re: Opinions on Pendulum?

I quite like their sound, but I'm more of a prodigy fan. Metal or not Sonisphere is a Rock festival so I would expect a big name rock band in that slot with (as a compromise) Pendulum closing bohemia or something. Yeah Soni is not stricly a metal festival (although a very big chunk of it is) but it ...

Re: Viral Video Advert

Nice idea, but a wee word of advice: get each person to record the whole song and not just a line. Gives the editor more scope and choice and less of a headache Surely too much choice would give the editor a headache? 3 lines then I guess. Cheers for the advice! I think we're gonna need a son...

Re: Can The UK Support 2+ Quality Rock Festivals Long Term?

Ah see now your beginning to hit on something. The reason that you will find metal fans complaining on forums like this quite simple. Both Download and Soni to a certain extent are using metal fans as the backbone for their festival. Now I appreciate that there are many on here whose tastes are more...

Re: Can The UK Support 2+ Quality Rock Festivals Long Term?

Am I the only one who thinks that the DL lineup is pretty frakk solid this year, and certainly giving Sonisphere a run for its money, and vice versa? I think the UK can support multiple rock and metal festivals. I like the competition, it forces festivals to also give some smaller bands a slot, thu...

Re: Can The UK Support 2+ Quality Rock Festivals Long Term?

What a frakking awesome day that was. Though I was ill afterward with sunstroke - one of the hottest days on record and Ozzy had water cannons rigged for his show, which he used at 10pm - when it was freezing. Arse. I would like to see a return of the big day fests, but I don't see it happening tbh...

Re: Can The UK Support 2+ Quality Rock Festivals Long Term?

This thread is flawed though, cause the quality of the bill in the OP would be impossible - doubt a festival could afford those acts. There are enough rock bands to go around in my opinion. The real issue here is though there aren't enough newer bands who are getting big enough to have headliner st...

Re: Can The UK Support 2+ Quality Rock Festivals Long Term?

I would argue further that the UK cannot support 1 Rock festival long term. Looking back at the early days of download there was an arguement that the Hard Rock/Metal Market could not sustain a 3 day Summer festival. There just isn't a big enough pool of quality bands that the masses enjoy. Festival...

Re: What the fu*k is happening

Hmnn.. not sure i would agree with the OP Sonisphere still has a fair bit to announce and there are some good names, although i still don't think it's gelling together all that well. Yup Download does have some Big names and some other pleasant surprises, but the body of the lineup is made made up o...

Re: how to get to sonisphere from the gatwickORheathrow airport?

Luton I'm not sure but I think you'll have to get a series of buses - unless one goes to Stevenage straight from the airport. Nope, just 1 bus. For anyone travelling to Luton the 100 (or might be 101) Arriva service picks you direct from the airport and on to stevenage, either the train station or ...
