Re: Announcements coming soon

Bloodstock and Hammerfest for me this year. Still going to be a great year for festivals, but it won't be the same without a big "blockbuster" festival to go to. I might consider download if they add a few more tolerable bands. Shame hellfest is already sold out :O Shows what slim pickings...

Re: Announcements coming soon

It might be a nice idea to have a half festival or something on years like this. They can put on a festival with mid-sized bands headlining, to give them a bit of a chance. We can't continue having the same old bands headlining every year, so when Sonisphere can't get the headliners they want, perha...

Re: Anyone found a way to remove the wristband?

They changed the designs of wristbands this year, it's much harder to take off with the twist and pull method. Previously, the teeth were just a part of the lock itself, whereas now the teeth are seperate, so you can't twist the whole lock any more. The plastic casing just twists hopelessly round an...

Shenanigans in the campsite/arena

Simple topic, Post any photos or stories you have of some of the great stuff that must have happened around the festival. To get the ball rolling: There were two guys doing proper wrestling moves on each other for the entire Slayer set (right by the half man half burger van). That was pretty epic, o...

Re: Assualt - Appeal for information.

That's horrible. I was camped in red 2 (i think), but I was in bed by that point as I needed an early night.

Any idea what they looked like? I might have seen them around if there were camped near me.

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

I'm not paying £200+ to watch 30-40 mins of bands I could see at their own show for £30 or under and they'd play a full set with better sound and a much better atmosphere. If that's your view, then you shouldn't be going to festivals. A handful of individual bands is never enough reason to buy a ti...

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

WHy did they all have to keep playing Limp Bizkit. And actually everywhere was constantly playing Limp Bizkit. In bits in tents before bands came on we kept hearing Limp Bizkit. All the rides played them. Everywhere. I think that Fred Durst had just read me slagging his band off on here and had tag...

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

As for water points. There was 3 that I know of, two of them were quite rarely used. They all worked much better than the ones in the campsite too, so there was plenty of opportunity for you to get water. Wrong. You're literally wrong. There were no signs for water in any of the camp sites, there w...

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

The only thing which we felt would improve it would be the Wednesday opening as by the time we had arrived and set up it was 7pm and we like the thursday for being a catch up day Absolutely! There are countless benefits of a wednesday opening for the punters, and I'm sure any extra expense on Soni'...

frakking bar prices were extortionate and the selection even worse. Shitty Tuborg and worst of all frakking BELLS WHISKY! The worst known to man. Excessive searching got on my tatty bojangles. If you have a good choice of drinks at reasonable prices we aren't forced to bring our own. This. Bells Wh...

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

When 2015 is revealed and it doesn't involve Metallica or Iron Maiden, how many people are going to think "The lineup doesn't have a legendary epic rock band in it ... I'm not buying a ticket because it's obviously gonna be cancelled"? Could be a viscous circle. Trepidation about the fest...

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

The frakking screens for metallica. The big screens worked perfectly well for all the bands on Friday and Saturday but NO. THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR METALLICA, so they have their massive new screens put up, which have the slight problem in that they're entirely frakking useless in the light. Now,...

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

Can Sonisphere stand on its own two feet without Metallica or Iron Maiden holding it up? I personally don't think so, but I would fucking love to be wrong. I'm really surprised that Metallica are still such a big draw. They've been on tour doing festivals pretty much constantly for what, 6 years? ...

Your complaint was perfectly valid, leave it at that. The only thing making it personal is actually going on to mention them by name and complain about them. If you'd have just raised that concern, Zac would probably have looked into it as soon as possible, but you being antagonistic again is going...

. I'd make a post about it but Zac would take it personally and Rockgeek would tell me I'm wrong. So there we go. See, this is exactly what's wrong with these posts walnut. Your complaint is completely self fulfilling. Your complaint was perfectly valid, leave it at that. The only thing making it p...

Oh yeah I was curious about that. Like, do we still get the free poster and Clothing patch that they promised?

I guess I'll just turn up at the info tent and see what happens :D

Also try different coach services. Look at other providers, and look at other routes. You might be able to get a coach to Peterborough (Or somewhere else on the stevenage line) instead, where you can get a train to Stevenage really cheap.

You can probably upgrade your ticket by paying the extra money at the ticket booth on thursday.

I'm not sure if Soni does it, most festivals do. Why not, right? All it means is more money for them.

I think that's the reason that the deadline was so early. It gives them a little leeway to be generous and help those that missed it. Also, Got my free ticket now so WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo 8-) Free ticket and a free T shirt. Not bad. (I also got a free ticket to Bloodstock) I'm doing well.

That's cool, a good idea but you should really pop down for longer. I met a Canadian last year at download and we've become fairly good friends since then, he's coming to sonisphere this year and is doing exactly the same thing as you. 2 days in london really isn't a lot. What you do depends on what...

Strictly enforced - you're on pretty ground and not some runway :-) Bugger! Any idea how many will be around and where they'll be? PS forgot to say thanks! There's usually at least one or two in each campsite. They are quite well placed and pretty obvious. It is pretty strictly enforced, but that d...

Re: Fanteamz

I haven't claimed anything yet, so I'm going to try and do it the other way around, but it's a bit of a gamble. I have done my first 6 posters today, which will give me a total of around 520 points. The gamble is... do I get some merch and risk not being able to get the posters done, then not having...
