Not really the point. I don't just go to a festival because it actually takes place and has the least bad lineup I can find. I just save my money for the next festival I do find.

Re: Announcements coming soon

I have to agree with what's been said about DL's lineup. It's pretty good so far and much better than last year. It should sell very well. Not really got much to get me to go there but that doesn't mean it's not a strong lineup. It's not a super strong line up. It's not a terrible line-up. It's som...

Re: Rumours Roundup: 2015

Dave said at the recent Foos club shows that they'd be doing Wembley Stadium next summer. Dave says a lot of things. For example, he regularly introduces Breakout (a song from their 3rd album) as "one for the old Foo Fighters fans". I'm not saying it won't happen, I believe it will. I'm j...

None of that is remotely confirmed. There was a fake Foos/QOTSA Wembley poster doing the rounds a while back, but that was definitely a fake.

Not suggesting that them doing Glasto/Wembley is that unlikely, just that it is rumour at the moment.

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

I agree to an extent that a solid headliner provides a "comfort blanket", so to speak. That being said, at DL12 and 13, I watched the total of 1.75 sets from the possible 6 headliners (Metallica in full, a bit of Sabbath and a bit of Maiden) and really enjoyed both years. It wasn't that I ...

Re: Bands you want to see at Sonisphere 2015

Off the back of the Punk Day announcement, I went to Amazon and bought a load of Epitaph 90's era punk albums. CiH talking about Rancid made me do it. I'd also add Swinging Utters, New Bomb Turks and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes to the list of bands that should appear on the Punk Day, assuming tha...

Re: Iron Maiden event shirt

I'm willing to stick to my guns on this one and say that I reckon that 99% of (openly) event specific t-shirts are bought and worn by people who attended the event, even if you can buy it afterwards online.

Anywho, I'm looking forward to receiving mine.

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

Here's the problem, at every festival I've ever been to and I've been to a fair few, apart from toilets the number 1 complaint is always the disability viewing platform - Not big enough Not enough seats Not enough room for wheelchairs Not enough room for carers Not enough toilets next to viewing pl...

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

I can understand where you're coming from, but at the same time, I'm confused as to why you need a viewing platform. I always thought they were intended for people who can't manoeuvre themselves so easily ie people in wheelchairs/ crutches etc. Well, she says she has a mental illness - if, for exam...

Re: Iron Maiden event shirt

I really think you'd be surprised. Well, yes, I would be because I don't see it happening. I can just about see obsessives collecting them. But it hardly seems a common thing - I'd like to think I spend a reasonable amount of time at places where you might expect to see people wearing metal band t-...

Re: Your Top 25 Most Played Songs

Interesting - I didn't realise people stuck by a single channel to this degree. My listening is spread pretty evenly over a half dozen platforms - Foobar at the computer, n-Stream at the main stereo (through Asset UpnP), Amazon Music in the gym, plus CDs and vinyl when the network craps out, which ...

Re: Iron Maiden event shirt

I actually feel a bit cheated by Maiden selling the event t shirt with the date on. That date is what sets us that were there apart from the people who were not. This is no longer the case, any Tom, Dick or ThornDavis can claim to of been there. Why would you want to though? I don't think I've ever...

Re: Rate the bands you saw

Friday Hounds/Lostalone - I'll be honest, I can't really remember either of them that well, so don't feel justified in offering an opinion. Anti-Flag - Not the best I've seen them, they don't really suit a big open space. Would have been better in one of the tents. 6/10 Gary Numan - Cracking set, I...

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

First time at a festival, despite going to many, many gigs over the years. Overall, the experience was great, but I have one tiny rant. ..... Those ignorant b*stards who are all well over 6ft tall and can easily stand anywhere & get a good view. Do they do that? No! All 5'4" of me was stan...
