Re: Sonisphere 2016

I'd actually quite like the idea of a really strong one day festival that followed the alternating stage setup. Last one I went to was Ozzfest in 2001, and it was awesome (even if it was at the bizarrely echoey Milton Keynes Bowl).

Re: Sonisphere 2016

Metalicbear's astonishing powers of deduction aside, I don't see how anyone can know what's been tried, who's been talked to or hasn't been or what the plans are, if any, for 2016. Music festivals aren't exactly the most lucrative enterprise in the world and attract a lot of risk. They do serve as a...

First try another machine. If that doesn't sort it, drop them an email. If you don't get a satisfactory response, at least you can show those on desk that you've tried from your end.

Chances are they'll sort you out.

Re: The weather...

Yeah, long-range forecasts of specific temp ranges, winds, rain and cloud cover for a 2-3 day period are pretty unreliable (I'm sure that's news to everyone). Hence why the met office only does it for 5 days in advance. The other sites want your traffic, so they put something up regardless of its ac...

What is this 'relevance' BS? What does the word do other than make someone sound like a pretentious :music-tool: Surely an eclectic bill trumps 'relevance' any frakking day of the week. I find some of the most 'relevant' bands total shite, but so long as there's a bar or something playing somewhere ...

Re: Saturn Stage Positioning

• Will the position of the stages change for 2010? Yes, they will remain in similar positions but the Apollo Stage will be moving slightly further back so the flat area in front of stage will be larger, so the line of sight will be improved also. This also to make the arena area larger to accommoda...

One last tip not so much about the camping but about the forum: it can take a few days for your posts to publish, but after a few posts they show up quicker! That's more down to us I'm afraid. It was Adam who was discussing what he found to be morally reprehensible. I discussed the legal aspect of making an informed but unwise choice in the segment of my post you didn't quote, which immediately preceded the bit you did quote, thus bringing my words out of context. I quoted what was relev...

Re: Sonisphere ban legal highs - continue to sell parapherna

The vast majority of stuff in question that is on sale at the stall is cannabis-related. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the vast majority of cannabis consumed in joints? Particularly in social situations, such as festivals. Rizla is definitely not going to be banned, as I'd imagine that far more...

Re: Sonisphere ban legal highs - continue to sell parapherna

And I know your issue is not a legal one but a moral one, but isn't one of the reasons we have a common set of laws is so that the morals of one random group aren't forced upon another? but then they should sell the legal highs right? because we have common laws dictating which drugs we can or cann...

Re: Sonisphere ban legal highs - continue to sell parapherna

If I give a morbidly obese man a takeaway menu and a telephone then there's a pretty good chance he's going to order some food. I haven't ordered the food for him, but I've still enabled it by providing the tools and I'm still in the wrong from a moral standpoint. I really don't get what is so hard...

Re: Sonisphere has banned legal highs. Oh dear.

That's a ridiculous suggestion Thorn, there is no way they're going to set up a stall selling cocaine, MDMA and amphetamines. The festival would be shut down straight away, I really don't know what you're thinking. I believe Thorn was highlighting the fact that the 'legal' in legal highs does not a...

Re: Sonisphere has banned legal highs. Oh dear.

I have seen some of the figures mentioned in the story but most of the time people who die when taking legal highs have also taken other, not so legal, drugs. Actually, some legal highs (such as GBL, which is a prodrug of the banned drug GHB) are potentially lethal when mixed with alcohol. Other le...
